Whole-body Magnetic Resonance Imaging Assessment Tool
SSS health researcher John McGrath was among the authors of a poster presented at the 2018 American College of Rheumatology Annual Meeting. The poster described a study to develop a new standardized assessment tool to characterize whole-body MRI findings in individuals with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (inflammation of the skeletal muscles). In the study, the determinations of the assessment tool correlated well with physician assessments and manual muscle testing. Other authors of the poster included researchers from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, and the Departments of Radiology and Imaging Sciences and Rehabilitation Medicine at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center.
