Predicting Liver Disease Mortality
SSS epidemiologist Constance Ruhl is an author of an article in Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics that describes an analysis of data on four liver fat scores (U.S. fatty liver index, fatty liver index, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease liver fat score, and hepatic steatosis index) in approximately 9,000 hepatitis-negative adults in the U.S. population. Higher liver fat scores were associated with increased liver disease mortality, but not with other mortality outcomes. The article is coauthored with a researcher from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
