Social & Scientific Systems, Inc., Wins Contract for Monitoring and Evaluation of Uganda HIV/AIDS Activities

(Silver Spring, MD, and Durham, NC  December 7, 2010)—Social & Scientific Systems, Inc. (SSS), was awarded a 5–year, $12 million contract to monitor and evaluate Emergency Plan progress in Uganda. The project is funded by the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), is managed by USAID/Uganda, and serves all U.S. Government agencies with HIV/AIDS programs in Uganda, including CDC, the Peace Corps, the Department of Defense, and the Department of State.

SSS project staff will continue their work conducting comprehensive performance management, monitoring, and reporting that supports Uganda HIV/AIDS activities funded by PEPFAR. A key element of this project is the support SSS will provide to U.S. Government agencies and the Government of Uganda in producing complete, reliable, and valid national data outputs. SSS will leverage the lessons learned and momentum gained over the past 5 years to achieve these objectives.
