Interim Evaluation of the United Kingdom's (UK) Government's Strategy for Tackling HIV and AIDS in the Developing World

SSS provided recommendations to the Department for International Development (DFID) on its strategy to combat AIDS, called Taking Action: The UK's Strategy for Tackling HIV and AIDS in the Developing World. SSS' recommendations focused on the following four areas:

  • Improving implementation and monitoring of the current strategy 
  • Evaluating measures and indicators for the final evaluation of Taking Action, including defining the baseline against which improvements will be assessed 
  • Advising DFID for the UK government's next steps on AIDS from 2008 
  • Providing recommendations on future UK strategies on development issues
