Secure systems ensuring data confidentiality.
Many of the Web sites that Social & Scientific Systems has developed require secure hosting environments and have secure portions of the sites. We are adept at designing, developing, and maintaining these secure environments and sites. We also have developed and then transferred Web sites to Federal Government and privately hosted secure facilities and then continued to refine and maintain the sites through arrangements with the hosting facility staff. Click on GHA Web Site (PDF) for more specific information about Web site security measures.
Management information systems (MIS).
Social & Scientific Systems has designed, developed, refined, and continued to maintain management information systems to coordinate and track regulatory, clinical, and administrative activities in support of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). We have used the systems since the early 1990s in support of the HIV/AIDS clinical trial coordinating centers for NIAID. Recently, we have been redesigning and working on the development of a Web-based version of our MIS to allow for external access to the system.
Web-based data collection systems.
Social & Scientific Systems has developed several Web-based data collection systems, including the Country Operational Plan and Reporting System (COPRS), which is the primary tool used by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for managing the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and for measuring the success of the plan to report to Congress. This system, similar to others we develop, is flexible enough to accommodate the ever-changing, evolving requirements of our clients.
