Training and Capacity Development

Social & Scientific Systems provides a range of client-focused training and capacity development services. We have been providing this support since the late 1970s to various U.S. Government agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) as well as major universities (including Johns Hopkins University and University of Maryland) and other organizations.

We have planned and provided international support for a wide range of activities in more than 35 developed and developing countries, including the Bahamas, Barbados, Botswana, the Dominican Republic, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Nepal, Rwanda, South Africa, Spain, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad, Uganda, and Zambia.

All of our training involves a collaborative, capacity-building approach and objective, which transfers information and skills and sustains a dialogue for mutual learning. We provide the optimum environment for learning by assuring that training materials are attractive, clear, and capture sufficient reference detail, trainers are highly skilled in communicating the required technical material in the necessary languages, and that training and meeting logistics, travel, and participant support are handled professionally and with the highest attention to detail.
