Web Site and Database for the Gene Therapy Resource Program, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI)
Social & Scientific Systems developed and maintain the Web site and database for the NHLBI Gene Therapy Resource Program. Public portions of the Web site provide information about the program and procedures for requesting resources. The controlled access area includes a peer review management program. This combined Web site and database system uses Web-based forms to fulfill the needs of the following audiences:
- Interested investigators can submit applications for resource allocation.
- Review groups can access application documents and submit application assessments online.
- Our staff, as the Clinical Coordinating Center, can monitor and manage all activities.
Automated e-mail communications are employed to keep applicant investigators, relevant review groups, the client, and the Clinical Coordinating Center informed of progress and next steps in the resource application review, approval, and implementation process.
